What kind of legacy would you like to leave?
We are all unique so the answer is different for everyone. The Zahraa Institute Legacy Project has been the catalyst to get us thinking about our legacies. As a result, a very special initiative was born. Alhamdulillah, a few students identified a need for a library at Zahraa Institute and with Mu’alima Radia’s permission and counsel, she has kick-started the process.
Islam calls us to seek knowledge. Our beloved Prophet (SAW) made seeking knowledge an obligation upon every Muslim and said, “Whoever follows a path in the pursuit of knowledge, Allah (SWT) will make a path to Paradise easy for him.” [Narrated by Bukhari, Kitaab al-Ilm 10]
Deeds that continue after death
Abu Huraira (RA) reported Rasulullah (SAW) as saying: “When a man dies, his acts come to an end, but three – recurring charity, or knowledge by which people benefit, or a pious son, who prays for him.” [Sahih Muslim: Book 25, Hadith 20]
We envision that the Zahraa Library will be every student’s hub for knowledge Insha’Allah. In our journey to learn our beautiful religion of Islam, we have endeavoured to understand the most amazing book, the Qur’an. Recently, we travelled to the battles of Badr and Uhud and learned about the great warriors of Islam, the companions who fought with our beloved Prophet (SAW). The literature of great scholars of Islam provided this learning platform.
Our Goal
We aim to acquire literature ranging from tafsir, seerah, hadith, inspirational and self-development and so much more Insha’Allah. Students will have access to credible literature as well as e-books, audio clips and AVs of lectures by some of our renowned scholars.
We are very excited about this initiative and have already received generous donations of new and previously ‘loved’ books which has catapulted our initiative from a plan to a development. Alhamdulillah. We are incredibly humbled by the support we have received and we will continue to endeavour to secure sponsorships and donations. Insha’Allah.
How can you help?
The success of the Zahraa Library relies on the assistance, generosity and the du’as of our fellow students, friends, families and community Insha’Allah.
We would appreciate donations of new or previously ‘loved’ books, financial aid or the gift of your time Insha’Allah.
There is plenty to do!
We would love for all at the Zahraa Institute to be excited about this and involved as ambassadors of this initiative, by spreading the message and creating a buzz! Insha’Allah.
